Overview
VERANDA magazine celebrates the winners of the second annual Art of Design Awards, which honor design industry trailblazers whose work is both innovative and timeless. From an architect who makes modern houses appear traditional, to a jewelry designer who is taking an ancient craft to new heights, the 2010 Art of Design Award winners represent the best in design that will stand the test of time. The winners are showcased in the October issue.
“The world is craving authenticity right now – things that are thoughtful and well executed,” said Dara Caponigro, Editor-in-Chief of VERANDA. “By looking both backward and forward, the Art of Design Award winners prove that good classic design is anything but boring.”
More than 100 candidates were nominated by leaders in the worlds of decoration and design. The panel of astute and influential judges include fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, architect Peter Pennoyer, designers Rose Tarlow and Holly Hunt, tastemaker Carolyne Roehm, and David McFadden, chief curator of the Museum of Arts and Design.
